About Noisy Vagabond

Noisy Vagabond is travel for people who follow the sound: festivals, live music, and the cities worth being in when something is on. The calendar drives the itinerary here, not the other way round.

Coverage is organised around dates as much as places, because a city during its festival and the same city three weeks later are different trips with different prices, different beds and different last trains home. Pages say which of the two they are about.

Facts come from primary sources. Festival dates, venue capacities and late-night transport are checked against the organisers and the transit operators, both of which publish changes that aggregators copy late or not at all. Anything numeric carries the date it was checked, because a price without a date is not information. Geographic data comes from GeoNames and OpenStreetMap, photographs from Wikimedia Commons under their individual Creative Commons licences, and time zone data from the IANA database.

We do not accept payment for a placement, a ranking or a favourable review. Where a link earns a commission, the page carrying it says so. We do not claim to have tested something we have not: plan details and prices that come from a provider rather than from our own checking are labelled as such. And we do not publish a page to fill a gap in a keyword list.
